The sailing regatta Michel for children and youngsters is 39 years old. The memorial, dedicated to the young sailor Michel Thompson, and its trophy is the most beloved and coveted by all members of the sailing team of the Real Club Torrevieja;
the competition takes place in two days and is an excellent testing ground to measure forces and psychological knowledge to practice and use in the upcoming sailing season.
Sixty sailors from clubs: RCN Torrevieja, Santa Pola, CN, CN Torre de la Horada competed on 23 and 24 August, in the 39th Edition of the Michel trophy with excellent sailing conditions, which enabled the completion of all planned and approved race classes: 293 Optimist, Europe, Laser 4.7, Laser Radial and 29er Techno
The best average ranking and thus winner of the XXXIX. Michel trophy was Ascensión Roca de Togores, Europe class sailor of RCNT who received the trophy from Sergio García Torregrosa and Mara García.
The award ceremony was carried out by Mara and Alba Garcia, and Sergio Garcia Torregrosa, nephew of the late Michel, Inés Mollá Mora, the 2012 Sirena of the RCNT, who in her first official activity, the committee member of sailing, Mercedes C. Martin, who gave the prices to the race winners.
Upon reaching 39, the Garcia Torregrosa family is still able, from generation to generation to keep the flame of remembrance for Michel alive, and there were great gifts and trophies to the winners and all the participants in the race. The party ended with a fabulous snack offered by the RCNT.
